TraceEkee is actively contributing to the mitigation of the community spread of Covid-19 in the Maldives through meticulous, community-driven contact tracing efforts.

Using Bluetooth signals, TraceEkee identifies encounters with other TraceEkee users and securely stores this data in encrypted form on your device. It records the nearby phone's identifier, model, signal strength, and time. Each TraceEkee user is represented by a randomized, regularly changing, encrypted identifier. In the event of a close contact with a confirmed Covid-19 case, the Health Protection Agency will request and require your authorized consent to upload your encounter data for contact tracing purposes.

By enabling swift identification of close contacts of positive cases, TraceEkee significantly aids the Health Protection Agency in delivering prompt guidance and essential care.

Additionally, TraceEkee ensures that users are kept informed about new developments and updates related to Covid-19 in the country, offering guidance on effective self-protection measures.
